Multidetector computed tomography -with 64 detectorsin our case – allows for the study of any part of the internal structures of an organ or system using ionizing radiation. In breast cancer, it plays an important role in the detection and staging of tumor or metastatic pathology.

In addition to performing general studies of any organ or system, with high resolution, with or without intravenous contrast, it allows for carrying out other types of non-invasive examinations. It is possible to conduct specific studies with the help of three-dimensional reconstructions: a study of the coronary arteries for assessment of coronary risk and a virtual colonoscopy for the prevention of colon cancer.
